BMW Sets Two GUINNESS WORLD RECORDS™ Titles for Drifting in the All-New 2018 BMW M5.

BMW driving instructor Johan Schwartz drifted an all-new BMW M5 sedan 232.5 miles around a skid pad at the BMW Performance Center in Greer, SC, setting a new GUINNESS WORLD RECORDS title for the Greatest distance vehicle drift in 8 hours. Schwartz shattered the previous record by 143 miles. A second GUINNESS WORLD RECORDS title for the Longest twin vehicle drift (water assisted) was also set on the same day. Schwartz broke the GUINNESS WORLD RECORDS title for Longest continuous vehicle drift on May 11, 2013 when he drifted an unmodified 2013 BMW M5 sedan for 51.278 miles also at the BMW Performance Center in Greer, SC. Since then, Schwartz’s record was broken twice – officially in 2013, then 2014. more In order to accomplish these feats and set new GUINNESS WORLD RECORDS titles, BMW partnered with North Carolina based automotive fabricators Detroit Speed to develop a custom dry break fuel system capable of refueling the BMW M5 mid-drift in the same way that fighter jets can refuel mid-flight. The resulting fueling system allowed Schwartz to drift continuously for the entire eight hours allocated by GUINNESS WORLD RECORDS. “We knew going-in that if we were going to recapture the world record for longest sustained drift and set the bar as high as possible, we would need to find a way to keep the M5 going without stopping to refuel,” said Schwartz. “In the end, the refueling system worked flawlessly and the M5 performed as expected. It was a big win all around.” Although the refueling system was built with the most technologically advanced components on the market, a human touch was needed to make and hold the refuel connection. Five separate times over the course of the eight hour drift, a second BMW M5 -- a previous generation M5 (F10) similar to the one that Schwartz used to set his original record -- entered the skid pad driven by BMW Performance Center Chief Driving Instructor Matt Mullins. As Mullins matched Schwartz’s drift, Detroit Speed’s Matt Butts, who was suspended via a safety tether from the second vehicle’s rear window, was able to straddle the space between both moving vehicles and successfully complete the fueling. “Although we practiced the refueling several times before the GUINNESS WORLD RECORDS title attempt, there was very little margin for error,” said Butts. “We’re excited to have played a part in Johan and BMW recapturing this record.” Once the GUINNESS WORLD RECORDS title for the Greatest distance vehicle drift in 8 hours was achieved, BMW attempted -- and successfully completed -- a second title for Longest twin vehicle drift (water assisted) (1 hour / 49.25 miles), now co-owned by Schwartz and Mullins. During the Consumer Electronics Show this week, Schwartz and Mullins will perform a drifting demonstration in the 2018 BMW M5 at the top of every hour. The GUINNESS WORLD RECORDS title-setting vehicle will be displayed in the BMW Experience at the Las Vegas Convention Center’s Silver Lot.

BMW Group meets pledge to deliver 100,000 electrified vehicles in 2017

The BMW Group has delivered more than 100,000 electrified vehicles to customers worldwide in 2017, as promised at the beginning of the year. This underlines the company’s leadership role when it comes to electro-mobility. An eye-catching light installation will mark this milestone on the road to the mobility of the future, with the BMW Group headquarters, the world-famous “Four-Cylinder” in the north of Munich, transformed into a battery. The BMW Group selected this glowing symbol to represent the technological change taking place in mobility. “We deliver on our promises,” said Harald Krüger, Chairman of the Board of Management of BMW AG. “This 99-metre-high signal is lighting the way into the era of electro-mobility. Selling 100,000 electrified cars in one year is an important milestone, but this is just the beginning for us. Since the introduction of the BMW i3 2013, we’ve delivered over 200,000 electrified cars to our customers and by 2025, we will offer 25 electrified models to our customers. The fifth generation of electric drive train and battery technology, available from 2021, uses scalable, modular electrification kits that will allow all model series to be fitted with every type of drive train. Next year will see the launch of the BMW i8 Roadster, followed in 2019 by a fully electric MINI; in 2020, by the electric version of the BMW X3 and in 2021 by the brand’s new technology flagship, the BMW iNext, which will combine electro-mobility with autonomous driving and new interior connectivity options for the first time in a series-production model. The BMW Group adopted a holistic approach to electro-mobility early, when it launched project i, the trailblazer for BMW i, back in 2007. By the following year, electric test fleets took to the roads worldwide in the largest wide-scale EV field trial the automotive industry had ever seen. Series production of the fully-electric BMW i3, one of the most-awarded vehicle concepts in the world, began in 2013. Since then, sales have increased every year, for the past four consecutive years. BMW Group leading provider of electro-mobility Thanks to its early focus on electro-mobility, the BMW Group has already achieved a leading position in the electrified vehicles market. According to the independent POLK/IHS Report (published on 7 Dec. 2017), the BMW Group has a clear lead over its competitors when it comes to registrations of new fully-electric and plug-in hybrid vehicles in Europe, with a market share of 21 per cent. This means the BMW Group’s share of the electrified vehicle segment is more than three times its share of the market for traditional models. While electrified vehicles now account for two per cent of new vehicle registrations across all manufacturers in Europe, the BMW Group figure is already six per cent. In other words, the BMW Group holds a disproportionately large share of the growing market for electro-mobility in Europe. The company’s position is similarly strong when it come to the worldwide market – the company has a 10% share of the global electrified vehicle market. Electrified models are in especially high demand in western European and the US, for example, where they account for seven per cent of total BMW brand sales in both markets. In Scandinavia, where the BMW i3 is the best-selling BMW model, one in four BMWs sold is electrified. In Germany, new registrations of fully-electric and plug-in hybrid BMW Group vehicles will reach more than 10,000 units this year. Electrified drive trains also play an increasingly important role in the engine mix for individual models: In 2017, every tenth model of the highly successful BMW 3 Series Sedan delivered to customers worldwide was electrified. In the case of the BMW 2 Series Active Tourer, 13 per cent of the models sold in 2017 were plug-in hybrids. Since its launch in June 2017, the MINI Cooper S E Countryman ALL4 (combined fuel consumption of 2.3-2.1 l/100km; CO2 emissions of 52-49 g/km) already accounts for one in ten of MINI Countryman sales around the world. Sales of the all-electric BMW i3 also increased by around a quarter. (All figures YTD November 2017.) Complementing the nine electrified four-wheel vehicles offered by the BMW Group, the company also manufactures the ideal two-wheeled product for premium urban electro-mobility: the BMW C evolution. Following the introduction of a new battery, which extends the scooter’s range to 160km, sales of this electrified scooter have grown by 80% compared to the first 11 months of last year. The 1,500 units sold around the world are in addition to the 100,000 electrified automobiles the company has sold in 2017. Ceremonial handover at the BMW Welt One of these many customers worldwide experienced a special surprise today: An 80-year-old driver from the North Rhine-Westphalia region of Germany collected his BMW i3 in Protonic Blue at BMW Welt in Munich this afternoon, making him the 100,000th customer worldwide to choose an electrified BMW Group vehicle this year. Harald Krüger, Chairman of the BMW AG Board of Management, welcomed him to the BMW Welt and personally handed over the keys to the new car, commenting, “the excitement connected to electro-mobility is felt by all generations and handing over the 100,000th electrified car we’ve brought to the streets this year is a very special moment for me.” A shining symbol To celebrate this important milestone, the iconic BMW “Four-Cylinder” headquarters tower is being transformed by a lighting installation into four upright batteries, representing the forward thinking which is a fundamental part of BMW’s DNA. The special illumination will be projected onto the building on the evening of 18 December 2017 from 8:00 p.m. until midnight. The project was implemented in collaboration with the cultural organisation Spielmotor Muenchen. This public-private partnership between the City of Munich and the BMW Group was founded in 1979 with the aim of bringing cultural diversity to Munich and establishing and expanding the city’s role as a national and international cultural destination.

The BMW i8 Roadster is alone among its rivals in offering owners a fabric soft-top which stows away into a perpendicular position in the rear when opened and therefore takes up very little space. The three segments of the roof fold vertically in a ‘Z’. Additional storage space between the roof box and the seats for the driver and front passenger is around 3.5 ft3 (preliminary figure). The B-pillars of the first-ever BMW i8 Roadster are emblazoned with beautifully made model-specific badges bearing the inscription “Roadster”. A similar logo can be found on the tail of the sporty two-seater. New exterior paint finishes, exclusive light-alloy wheels. The design cues common to both the new BMW i8 Coupe and first-ever BMW i8 Roadster include the gullwing doors that open forwards and upwards as well as optimized aerodynamics. The low hood, BMW kidney grille, air flap control system, Air Curtains in the front apron, flat underbody, contoured side skirts, “stream flow” lines of the car’s flanks, and air ducts between the rear lights and roof frame allow the air to be guided effectively. The flow of cooling air at the front of each model has now been re-routed. Instead of rushing out through the outlet in the hood, the air escapes at the sides of the car near the wheel arches and into the underbody. This ensures a pleasant cabin temperature is maintained at all times, especially when travelling in the first-ever BMW i8 Roadster with the roof down. E-Copper metallic and Donington Grey metallic have been added to the choice of exterior paint finishes available for the new BMW i8 Coupe and first-ever BMW i8 Roadster. Both are combined with accents in Frozen Grey metallic. The first-ever BMW i8 Roadster is equipped as standard with exclusive 20-inch BMW i light-alloy wheels in Radial-spoke style bicolor design with mixed-size tires (Jet Black design optional). Intelligent lightweight design also make an impact here, with each wheel weighing around 2.2 pounds less than the lightest wheels previously available for the BMW i8. In addition to the standard 20-inch light-alloy wheels, customers can choose from another four light-alloy wheel variants with the same dimensions. The BMW i8 Coupe also includes a model-specific design feature indicating its identity: “Coupe” badging on its B-pillars. Innovative interior design in a range of new looks. The progressive style of the BMW i8 Coupe and first-ever BMW i8 Roadster also shines through clearly in their interior design. Standard specification for both models includes a sports steering wheel and multifunctional instrument display, plus Giga interior trim comprising full-leather upholstery in Ivory White for the Coupe and Ivory White/Black for the Roadster. Powertrain, chassis and body. And if the eDrive button is pressed, the all-electric threshold of both models is increased to 75 mph. The new high-voltage battery benefits the electric range of the two plug-in hybrid sports cars too. The first-ever BMW i8 Roadster and BMW i8 Coupe can cover up to 18 miles in purely electric driving, almost 30 percent more than before (preliminary figures). Three-cylinder gasoline engine with improved sound and lower emissions. The i8’s combustion engine has also undergone further optimization to ready it for the new Coupe and Roadster. The turbocharged three-cylinder unit featuring direct injection and VALVETRONIC variable valve timing extracts a maximum output of 228 hp from its displacement of just 1.5 liters, plus peak torque of 236 lb-ft. It is pleasantly refined and generates a distinctive soundtrack that now has an even sportier note when its power reserves are called upon. The system output produced by the electric motor and gasoline engine acting in unison has increased to 369 hp in the new BMW i8 Coupe and first-ever BMW i8 Roadster. The new BMW i8 Coupe accelerates from 0 to 60 mph in 4.2 seconds (preliminary), while the first ever BMW i8 Roadster accelerates in 4.4 seconds (preliminary). Both models have an electronically limited top speed of 155 mph. Combined fuel economy in everyday driving, both models return fuel economy and emissions figures that undercut those for conventionally powered sports cars with similar outputs by around 50 per cent, yielding approximately 70 MPGe (preliminary figures). Maximized driving pleasure with intelligent energy management and hybrid-specific all-wheel drive. In hybrid mode, the electric motor provides a power boost to assist the engine when vigorous acceleration is required. The electric motor is also able to recuperate energy and feed it to the high-voltage battery on the overrun and under braking. The gasoline engine’s high-voltage starter-generator can similarly generate additional reserves of electricity, thereby ensuring that sufficient energy is on tap at all times for the electric drive system in the new BMW i8 Coupe and first-ever BMW i8 Roadster. This blend of dynamism and efficiency is further honed by the intelligent energy management’s proactive function. When the navigation system’s route guidance function is activated, the energy management ensures the electric motor is employed as extensively and as wisely as possible from an efficiency point of view. The system analyses the route in full and prompts the powertrain management to run on purely electric power, particularly over low-speed sections of the journey. The bespoke tuning of the suspension and damping systems, the specially configured steering characteristics, a firmer roll stabilization set-up and precise tweaks of the DSC parameters together ensure the first-ever BMW i8 Roadster boasts all of the plug-in hybrid sports car’s hallmark handling and performance qualities. The approach of making systematic use of lightweight design measures has been meticulously adapted to the specific requirements of the Roadster model. The open-top two-seater comes with newly designed frameless gullwing doors made from CFRP with an aluminum outer shell, while the windscreen frame is made entirely from CFRP. This ultra-strong high-tech material is ideally equipped to provide exceptional rigidity, maximizing the car’s occupant protection in case of a roll-over situation. CFRP is also used to manufacture the side skirts with their extra-large cross-section. The skirts are a contributory factor in the body’s stiffness, as are the additional panels in the rear suspension and the specially designed struts for the front and rear axle. Thanks to the high-strength CFRP body, the chassis and body elements specific to the BMW i8 Roadster result in an extremely small weight gain when compared to other open-top models. The unladen weight of the new BMW i8 Roadster stands at 3,513 pounds, just 132 pounds more in approximate terms than that of the new BMW i8 Coupe (preliminary figures). Controls, equipment, BMW Connected, ConnectedDrive and 360° ELECTRIC. Both the display and control concept and the equipment of the new BMW i8 Coupe and first-ever BMW i8 Roadster serve to enhance their exhilarating sports car feel and the intense hybrid driving experience. As well as its multifunction buttons, the leather sports steering wheel also comes with shift paddles for changing gear manually, while the standard heated seats for the driver and front passenger are electrically adjustable. Driving Dynamics Control switch and eDrive button provide five driving modes. Drivers will find an eDrive button in the center console alongside the Driving Experience Control switch to allow them to adapt not just the vehicle’s set-up but also the drive system’s operating strategy. This provides a total of five driving modes to choose from: hybrid drive with COMFORT, SPORT or ECO PRO settings and all-electric driving in COMFORT or ECO PRO mode. If the eDrive button is pressed in either COMFORT mode – which strikes an even balance between sporty and efficient characteristics – or ECO PRO mode (designed for particularly fuel-efficient driving), power is provided by the electric motor alone up to a speed of 75 mph. The combustion engine will only cut in automatically if the battery’s energy reserves are nearly fully depleted or the driver summons full power via kickdown. It is in SPORT mode that the intelligently controlled interaction between electric motor and combustion engine can be experienced at its most intense. Both power units deliver extra-sharp performance, accelerator response is faster and the power boost from the electric motor is maximized. And to keep the battery topped up, SPORT mode also activates maximum energy recuperation on the overrun and under braking. The intelligent energy management’s mode of operation can be visualized by calling up the energy flow graphic in the Control Display via the iDrive menu. The instrument cluster takes the form of a fully digital multifunctional instrument display, which shows the car’s speed and driving status information in a format and color scheme selected to suit the driving mode engaged. Traditional, orange-colored circular dials appear in SPORT mode, in COMFORT mode, a blue “power meter” display keeps the driver up to speed on what the electric motor is up to, and ECO PRO mode supplements this with an efficiency gauge. Navigation system Professional and Driving Assistant as standard. The Navigation system Professional, also included as standard, is controlled using the latest iDrive 6.0 operating system, comprising both a Touch Controller on the center console and an 8.8-inch freestanding touch screen Control Display. The main menu is now presented on the screen in the form of horizontally arranged tiles with a live mode. The standard audio system features a 12 speaker 360 W Harman Kardon HiFi system with HD tuner for digital radio reception. When it comes to driver assistance systems, the BMW i8 Coupe and BMW i8 Roadster are both equipped as standard with a model-specific BMW Head-Up Display. When the driver is shifting gears manually in SPORT mode, this switches to a sport display that adds an rpm readout, gear indicator and Optimum Shift Indicator. The First-Ever BMW M3 CS

BMW announced the first-ever BMW M3 CS, a special-edition model that delivers a fine blend of high performance and complete everyday practicality. The engineers at BMW M GmbH have succeeded in intensifying the dynamic, emotion-packed character of the BMW M3 with a carefully crafted ensemble of modifications. The extensive use of carbon fiber-reinforced plastic (CFRP), has kept the first-ever BMW M3 CS extremely light; around 110 lb less than a standard M3. Large sections of the body are also made from CFRP, including the hood, which is around 25 percent lighter than that of the regular BMW M3. The CFRP roof alone is more than 13 pounds lighter than a conventional steel version. These changes effectively lower the car’s center of gravity, which endows the BMW M3 CS with even better agile handling. The back of the vehicle features a redesigned “Gurney Flap” in exposed carbon fiber. This aerodynamic spoiler lip running across the trailing edge of the trunk lid significantly reduces rear-axle lift. In the interests of everyday practicality, the M3 CS forgoes a roll cage. more The excellent dynamics of the first-ever BMW M3 CS are rooted not only in unique suspension set-up (in terms of spring/damper settings), but also in a moderate increase in power for the M TwinPower Turbo technology 6-cylinder inline engine. Fitted in the M3 CS it develops 453 hp at 6250 rpm (+28 hp) and peak torque 443 lb-ft from 4000 to 5380 rpm (+37 lb-ft). The unmistakable roar of the twin turbo engine is enhanced by the M sports exhaust system that has been specially tuned for the CS and whose quartet of stainless-steel tailpipes blend perfectly into the CFRP rear diffuser. Generous use of Alcantara and the two-tone full Merino leather in Silverstone/Black endow an enviably sporting feel. The engine in the first-ever BMW M3 CS is fired up with the push of a new red start/stop button. Paring down the passenger compartment to the essentials and, in so doing, achieving significant weight savings is also expressed in the presence of lightweight M sports seats. Its passengers need not go without niceties such as automatic climate control and a high-quality, specially adapted version of the Harman Kardon surround sound system. Orders for the first-ever 2018 BMW M3 CS can be placed starting May, 2018. Production of the high-performance sedan will be limited to approximately 1,200 units worldwide, with approximately 550 units coming to the U.S. Pricing will be announced closer to market launch. High-revving concept and TwinPower Turbo Technology deliver even higher performance. The inline 6-cylinder engine has a long tradition at BMW, and in the first-ever BMW M3 CS it is once again responsible for delivering top performance. Compared to the standard M3, maximum output has been increased by 28 horsepower to 453 hp, which is on tap at 6,250 rpm. Peak torque of 443 lb-ft is around 10 percent higher (M3, 406 lb-ft) and can be summoned over a wide rev range – from 4,000 rpm up to 5,380 rpm. The result, 0 to 60 mph sprint takes just 3.7 seconds, while the top speed of the BMW M3 CS, which comes with the M Driver’s Package as standard, is electronically limited to 174 mph. The high power output of the 3.0-liter engine can be attributed to its free-revving design of the M TwinPower Turbo technology utilizing two mono-scroll turbochargers, which combined with High Precision Direct Injection, VALVETRONIC variable valve lift and Double-VANOS fully variable camshaft timing control ensure the 6-cylinder unit delivers its power to maximum effect. Boost pressure is built up continuously from just above idling speed, while the fully variable valve and camshaft timing help to maintain high efficiency. As a result, the inline 6-cylinder under the hood has a high rated maximum engine speed for a twin-turbocharged unit (7,600 rpm). The closed-deck design of the 6-cylinder engine’s crankcase ensures it is remarkably rigid, paving the way for high cylinder pressures and very effective power output. The sleeveless cylinder walls, with their twin-wire, arc-sprayed coating, help to save weight. Another feature designed for top performance is the forged crankshaft boasting a lightweight design yet also high torsional strength. This keeps the rotating mass low and gives the twin-turbo power unit even quicker throttle response. The engine’s oil supply system is another technical highlight, showcasing the vast motorsport expertise of BMW M GmbH. It has been designed with the tough demands of track competition in mind and ensures that the engine is kept supplied with lubricant under longitudinal and lateral forces of up to 1.4 g. The lightweight magnesium oil sump is fitted with an additional cover to limit the lubricant’s surging movements, even in extreme driving maneuvers such as the ones experienced on a race track. An extra oil suction pump combined with a highly effective oil return system ensure a constant oil supply. The first-ever M3 CS features a dual-branch sports exhaust with the characteristic four tailpipes at the back neatly incorporated into the styling of the rear diffuser. The exhaust back-pressure is as low as possible, helping to enhance power, and it is governed by a system of flaps. Positioned directly upstream from the rear silencers, the flaps are controlled electrically and are designed to provide optimum feedback on the engine’s load state throughout the rev range as well as generate that unmistakable, sporty M sound. The driver can alter the way the system of flaps works by preselecting a driving mode. The tailpipes are made from stainless steel and bear the M logo. Power is transmitted to the rear wheels of the first-ever BMW M3 CS via the proven 7-speed M Double Clutch Transmission (M DCT) with Drivelogic. Extremely fast gear changes mean there is no interruption in power flow, while the M Launch Control function ensures flawless acceleration from a standing start. The M DCT unit operates fully automatically, but there are also shift paddles on the steering wheel should manual gear changes be the order of the day. To help cope with even the most demanding operating conditions, the 7-speed transmission comes with a dedicated oil cooler. Driving dynamics perfected on the race track: M-precision and agility. Cars created by BMW M GmbH have always stood out by virtue of their agility, steering precision and handling stability. The first-ever BMW M3 CS upholds this tradition, while also catering to the sports-minded driver with a variety of set-up options for the suspension, the M Servotronic electromechanical steering, the DSC stability control system and the 7-speed M Double-Clutch Transmission with Drivelogic. The first-ever BMW M3 CS is fitted as standard with Adaptive M Suspension, offering the driver the choice between Comfort, Sport and Sport+ modes, including different damper settings in each of the three modes. Three different settings for the precise electromechanical steering of the M3 CS can also be selected at the touch of a button. The high-tech chassis technology for the first-ever BMW M3 CS also includes the Active M Differential. This limited-slip differential’s electronically controlled multi-disc locking action further enhances the car’s already outstanding traction and stability. The control unit communicates with the DSC (Dynamic Stability Control) system, factoring in the accelerator position, rotational wheel speeds, yaw rate, and adapting to the changing driving situation with extreme precision to ensure the maximum amount of torque is distributed to the rear wheels. DSC normally counters understeer or oversteer by means of targeted intervention in the engine and brake control systems. In the case of the M3 CS, engaging M Dynamic Mode (MDM) allows a greater degree of wheel slip, making it possible to perform mild drifts. The BMW M GmbH engineers have rigorously applied their lightweight design approach to the wheels as well. The 10 J x 20-inch wheels at the rear weigh just over 22 pounds each and their 9 J x 19-inch counterparts at the front a mere 19 pounds. That keeps the unsprung masses low, which is another factor in the exceptionally dynamic handling of the M3 CS. The M3 CS rides as standard on mixed-size Michelin Pilot Super Sport tires (265/35 R 19 at the front and 285/30 R 20 at the rear). Like the M3, the first-ever M3 CS comes with BMW M compound brakes as standard. Fixed 4-piston calipers at the front and fixed 2-piston units at the rear are employed to deliver outstanding stopping power and high fade resistance. Compound brakes are far lighter than conventional equivalents, meaning a further reduction in unsprung masses and therefore even sharper handling. The BMW M3 CS is optionally available with BMW M Carbon Ceramic brakes. These brakes feature fixed 6-piston calipers at the front and 4-piston calipers at the rear, are even lighter, can withstand the sort of extreme loads experienced in race action on a track and are even more durable. Expressive design: Punchy use of forms and intelligent lightweight engineering. The first-ever BMW M3 CS special-edition model leaves no doubt as to its performance capabilities with its looks alone. The front splitter is made from lightweight exposed carbon fiber and reduces lift at the front axle to great effect. Carbon fiber-reinforced plastic (CFRP) has also been used for the restyled “Gurney Flap” at the rear, effectively reducing rear axle lift. The CFRP rear diffuser is carried over from the BMW M4 GTS. It adds a visually stunning and sporty flourish to the rear end and seamlessly incorporates the four stainless-steel tailpipes of the dual-branch, CS-specific M sports exhaust system into its styling. The diffuser and front splitter also optimize the airflow along the vehicle’s underbody and combine with the “Gurney Flap” to keep the car in even firmer contact with the road. The use of multiple components made from CFRP is a further indication of BMW’s firm commitment to intelligent lightweight engineering with the first-ever M3 CS. The BMW M3 CS special-edition model comes with BMW Individual High gloss Shadow Line trim and darkened rear light units. BMW M GmbH is offering a total of five exterior colors for the high-performance sedan. The M3 CS is painted in Alpine White as standard, while customers may also opt for either San Marino Blue Metallic, Lime Rock Grey Metallic, Frozen Dark Blue II Metallic or Black Sapphire Metallic. The rear seats are likewise upholstered in Merino leather in an exclusive two-tone Silverstone/Black combination with grey contrast stitching. The sports seats in the first-ever BMW M3 CS guarantee optimum lateral support, even when powering around a track, yet they are also very comfortable on long journeys. The familiar BMW M stripes have been incorporated into the front seat belts. The most important accessory for drivers of the first-ever BMW M3 CS is an M sports steering wheel. Wrapped in exclusive, anthracite-colored Alcantara with a silver 12 o’clock marker, this cost option provides outstanding grip in all driving situations. Alcantara with grey contrast stitching adorns the handbrake lever. The interior’s exclusive trim strips are covered with Alcantara and feature prominent CS identifiers. Alcantara – a wonderfully classy yet hard-wearing upholstery material – also graces the lightweight center console. The door sills, meanwhile, feature special strips inscribed with M3 CS lettering. Despite the intensely sporty focus of the first-ever BMW M3 CS, drivers do not have to go without comforts such as automatic climate control.
