The BMW Group has delivered more than 100,000 electrified vehicles to customers worldwide in 2017, as promised at the beginning of the year. This underlines the company’s leadership role when it comes to electro-mobility. An eye-catching light installation will mark this milestone on the road to the mobility of the future, with the BMW Group headquarters, the world-famous “Four-Cylinder” in the north of Munich, transformed into a battery. The BMW Group selected this glowing symbol to represent the technological change taking place in mobility.

Selling 100,000 electrified cars in one year is an important milestone, but this is just the beginning for us. Our early focus on electro-mobility has made this success possible – and electro-mobility will continue to be my measure for our future success.”

To activate this system, press the Parking Assistant button, which is located on the center consol. The iDrive screen will display instructions on how to utilize the Parking Assistant. To stop the Parking Assistant at any time, simply release the Parking Assistant button.

The first-ever BMW i8 Roadster takes the BMW i8’s combination of locally emission-free mobility, high-caliber performance and adds the top-down driving experience. The Roadster offers a whole new sensation of freedom, opening the door to virtually silent driving with zero CO2 emissions and bringing an extra edge of purity to open-air driving. Reinforcing its commitment to offer 25 electrified models –12 of which will be purely electric – by 2025, BMW Group will showcase five electric vehicles at the 2017 Los Angeles Auto Show including the North American premieres of the BMW i Vision Dynamics, MINI Electric Concept, BMW i3s, and a World Premiere vehicle that will be shown during the BMW Group press conference on Wednesday, November 29 at 8:50 a.m. PST at the BMW Stand in the Los Angeles Convention Center. The press conference will be livestreamed on www.BMWUSANews.com.
