BMW unveils the 2019 BMW Z4 sDrive30i Roadster
Following the unveiling of the all-new BMW Z4 M40i First Edition Roadster at Pebble Beach Lodge to kick-off Monterey car week, BMW unveils the 2019 BMW Z4 sDrive30i Roadster, which will arrive in March of 2019, and the 2020 BMW Z4 M40i Roadster, which will follow.
Agility, performance and precise handling have always been top priorities for the Z4 family but the new two-seater’s body, powertrain and chassis have received the greatest amount of development work to make sure the new Z4 Roadster arrives with a genuine sports car performance pedigree.
If the chassis is the legs and muscles of a top performing athlete then the engines are the heart and lungs. The all-new BMW Z4 Roadster has gone through a thoroughly complete training program and features two new powerful TwinPower Turbocharged engines and brand new front and rear suspensions developed specifically for the Roadster.

At the Governor’s Global Climate Action Summit (12–14September 2018) in San Francisco, the BMW Group and PG&E present the results of their Charge Forward project in favor of maximizing the use of electricity from renewable resources to charge electric cars.
The main findings are:
• Electric vehicles can help stabilizing the public grid and maximizing the portion of renewables.
• Drivers are willing to change their charging habits in order to align with renewables, given the right messaging and incentives.
• Energy companies can help increase daytime charging with renewables by supporting companies in adding workplace charging.
• Sharing data with other drivers is a motivator for many participants.
• Programs like Charge Forward improve customers’ understanding of how the grid works, which helps them become more educated energy consumers.

“Hey BMW, now we’re talking!” BMWs are about to get a personality with the company’s Intelligent Personal Assistant.
The BMW Group is set to revolutionize driving pleasure with the BMW Intelligent Personal Assistant. From March 2019, BMW drivers and passengers will be joined by an intelligent, digital character that responds to the prompt “Hey BMW”. This will mark the start of a new era for the BMW Group in which drivers will increasingly be able to operate their car and access its functions and information simply by speaking. The personal assistant will also be able to assist the driver outside their vehicle, whether it’s at home with the help of a smart speaker or out and about via smartphone. What’s more, he will be compatible with other digital voice assistants beyond Amazon Alexa, too, providing a link to other rapidly growing ecosystems. The personal assistant’s capabilities are developing all the time courtesy of BMW’s Open Mobility Cloud and the use of artificial intelligence. The range of functions and skills available will be constantly expanded as part of regular updates, which can be carried out seamlessly on a smartphone and in-car by Remote Software Upgrade. “BMW’s Intelligent Personal Assistant teams up with the new BMW Operating System 7.0 to create a brand new, digital form of interaction with the customer’s BMW that redefines the whole driving experience,” says Dieter May, Senior Vice President Digital Products BMW Group.

It is widely known that BMW cars have always been at home on the big screen. Now, BMW is also making an impressive debut in the world of video streaming. A whole range of BMW cars will be featured alongside legendary CIA analyst and agent Jack Ryan in the new Amazon series “Tom Clancy’s Jack Ryan”. The first season will be available exclusively on Prime Video beginning 31 August 2018.

Access by BMW, the vehicle subscription service from BMW Financial Services, now offers customers in its Nashville-area pilot program greater choice with a new membership tier and enhancements to the two tiers that launched previously.
Access by BMW, the vehicle subscription service from BMW Financial Services, now offers customers in its Nashville-area pilot program greater choice with a new membership tier and enhancements to the two tiers that launched previously.
The new Icon tier, priced at $1,099 per month, allows customers to enjoy a diverse array of BMW vehicles, from core models like the BMW 3 Series to exciting new Sports Activity Vehicles like the BMW X2. The Icon tier includes all of the same great benefits as the other tiers, including unlimited swaps, vehicle maintenance, insurance, and BMW Roadside Assistance. Registration is now open with vehicle deliveries to begin in a few weeks.
The BMW M tier and Legend tier, both of which launched the Access by BMW program in April 2018, continue to evolve. BMW M tier members can now also request vehicles from the Legend and Icon tiers, while Legend tier members can now also request vehicles from the Icon tier.
Pricing for both the Legend tier and the BMW M tier has also been revised.
• The BMW M tier, which includes the BMW M4 convertible, the all-new BMW M5, the BMW M6 convertible, and the BMW X6 M, is now priced at $2,699 (compared with $3,700 per month previously).
• The Legend tier, which includes the BMW 4 Series, BMW 5 series, BMW X5, and BMW M2, is now priced at $1,399 per month (compared with $2,000 per month previously).
• The new Icon tier includes the BMW 330i, plug-in hybrid BMW 330e, fully-electric BMW i3, BMW X2, and BMW M240i convertible. It is priced at $1,099 per month.
