IT’S BIGGER…
The new fourth generation X5 has actually grown in size! Its wheelbase is larger by 1.6 inches and its overall length has increased by 1.1 inches. Its width is also greater by 2.6 inches while overall height jumps by an inch.
This boost in size means a roomier interior that offers for space for you, your passengers and all of your belongings.
IT’S SMARTER….
The new 2019 BMW X5 features a whole range of new technologies. They include a new optional off-road package that adds an upgraded air suspension set up at both axles and a new rear-locking differential. This is perfect for those drivers who want to explore some paths less travelled.
Debuting with this model is also BMW’s new “Live Cockpit Professional,” which incorporates two large high-definition 12.3-inch diagonally measured LCD screens. This replaces the traditional analog gauge instrument cluster and the previous model’s iDrive 5.0 center screen.
This new technology allows drivers access to everything from the sat-nav to BMW Connected Services and other fancy in-car functions.
Other technology enhancements include the first-ever “bundle” of BMW’s Connected Services in a single Connected Package Professional. This incorporates remote services, concierge services, on-street parking information and real-time traffic information, all of which are standard on the new X5. In addition, this new model needs no key and can open and start with your Smartphone!
IT’S FASTER…..
Although BMW has always offered an eight-cylinder option for the X5, this latest V8 is significantly revised with various upgrade.
The 4.4 liter displacement remains the same as the outgoing eight, but engineers relocated the turbo chargers to the valley of the V8, rather than mounting them. This means better performance for you!
In addition, the 2019 model has new heat plates that aid thermal shielding in the crank case and cylinder head. The ignition system is also new from the ground up, improving the engine’s auto start-stop function. The result is greater horsepower than last year’s model, from 444 to 456.
IT’S FRESHER….
New laser lights with bluish accents, beautiful proportions, a dynamic roofline, a compact and stunning profile, and the list goes on!
Everything about the interior design is far fresher, including a new shifter and climate-control knobs. The 2019 model also boasts a new steering wheel and all of the infotainment displays.
There are trim options including the new Verasca leather variant, as well as BMW’s Merino leather. While heated seats are standard, massaging and cooling options are now available.
The 2019 X5 has a panoramic sunroof with 30 percent more glass area, and there is now a four-zone climate control system. Cupholders can be heated or cooled in this new model and Dynamic Interior Light flashes lights to alert you to everything from a phone call to opening a door when the engine is still running.
