BMW Dives Deeper into Scooter Market

Around these parts, BMW is known for creating some of the most luxurious and performance-driven vehicles in the world today, and we here at Passport BMW love showing them off on our lot. Of course, it would be wise for us to note that the Bavarian automaker isn't simply known for its four-wheeled creations either. Rather, the company has been making motorcycle engines and bikes since the first World War, and in recent years, the company has been pushing for a larger adoption rate of these types of vehicles too.
What specifically is BMW doing to encourage riders to check out their bikes? Overseas, BMW doesn't really need to do much of anything. Motorcycles, bikes, and scooters are an alternative to cars that many embrace in the European and Asian markets, due to stellar fuel economy, easy maneuverability, and light environmental impact. In the United States, however, cars are still the prominent choice for those looking to get around, and while BMW knows that every motorist is entitled to their preferred choice, many might not even realize that two-wheeled options can be a choice. That's why BMW recently invested heavily in offering its motorcycles and bikes here in the United States. More specifically, the company recently showed off a pair of new 60-hp scooters for the U.S. market in 2012. The bikes debuted in sunny California and Milan, and they're known as the C600 and C650GT Maxi-Scooter.
However, the automaker's biggest surprise for the U.S. market may be still yet to come. BMW is reportedly working on a new electric scooter that would produce zero-emissions and be cheap to run. At this time, BMW has not given the electric scooter an official production name or date, but you can bet that we'll be keeping our eyes open for details.
That said, we here at 4730 Auth Place Marlow Heights, MD 20746 would like to know... Will you be checking out a two-wheel BMW model in the near future? Or are you more inclined to stick with four wheels and solid doors? Of course, you could invest in both and have the best of both segments... Either way, leave us a comment and let us know!
